Blog 25: Discussion Qs Week#5

What do you think could be done to stop our world from becoming like the world in the book? Would you WANT to stop the world from becoming that way?

In the book "Feed" by M.T. Anderson, the dystopia part of the book is the use of the feed, basically internet connected directly to your brain. This sounds great but it doesn't become a dystopia because everything is good, this feed is the cause of global destruction, in the terms of it has destroyed all natural resources and the Earth is slowly dying, and we find out later in the book the US is to blame for all this. The only thing I can see preventing this is, for us as a group to not get that dependent on technology, that's the real big thing we can do to stop it. Would I want the feed to happen, well from my point of view I would love for technology like the feed, except less intrusive. Probably something like Google Glass would be fine for me, an interface that requires no monitor or anything of the sort.

What does the meaning of "Everything must go" final line?
I believe it means that since the Earth is dying, everything must go because eventually it will go.

How do you feel about all the characters in general?
I generally dislike almost every currently living character, the only character I don't have a problem with is Violet's father, because he's the only one in the bunch that has a brain

How long does this Earth have left?
Not long. wether it be nuclear fallout or environmental destruction. I give it a few months at least.
